Setting up the Library

We are making the north parlor into the library.
A closet was removed. I worked with my 3 small grandchildren. The oldest, Barret and I used hammers and crow bars and broke drywall into chunks and the 2 littler girls carried out pieces and put them in the dumpster. We even were able to remove 2x4's but couldn't remove the door frame into the sunroom.
John came and used the sawsall to cut the nails holding the door frame. We removed the door frame and door then put studs into the old door opening. We drywalled over the doorway.
Our friends son, David Russell, finished the plaster wall and the ceiling where we took out the closet in the library and the other side in the north sunroom.
The sunroom was painted. The library wall was painted where it had been fixed.
A large oak book case about 9 feet long and 5 feet high was placed against the wall. I had purchased this book case from UNL at an auction in the early 1970's. At one time, it was the top and had a base under it. In the future, I would like to create a base for it and mount this book case on top.
Years ago I also purchased an oak library table at an auction. But it also came from UNL at some time because it had a sticker on it. That is also in the library. It is about 3feet wide and 6 feet long. Would be nice to have nice chairs around it and use it for meetings.
About 2004 I bought a map case in Colorado Springs. It is 4 stacks high and it is in the library with linens and paper in it.
I painted most of the rest of the room the winter 2005 but since I broke my foot and was in a boot from September thru February 2005 I couldn't get on scaffolding, the edges around the ceiling and corners haven't been finished. Need to move furniture to get a scaffold in there now and get it done.
The floors need to be refinished, but they aren't bad and I have a large area rug on the floor. And several smaller rugs at the hall doorway and in front of the french doors going into the north living room.
We also installed a ceiling fan in the library.
