A few weeks ago John power washed the front of the house and the porch floor. Then it kept raining, so had to wait to paint.
Last weekend the north part of the porch about 10' x 25' was scraped. This Saturday, I painted the porch that had been scraped.
Sunday, I scraped the steps, all 3 steps are 10' long. And then painted them.
This summer I plan to take vacation and use the time to paint the porch and all the porch trim. I am hoping several of the grandchildren will help with the rest of the scraping and painting.
The plantings from last year are looking good. John removed a small dead red bud tree and started another. The perenials all are looking good. The chives are blooming, the iris have started to bloom. So far 1 white one. The daisys are starting to bloom. The dwarf lilac we planted last fall are doing well and did bloom. Due to the late freeze we had, we may have lost 2 rose bushes.
The Clematis we planted last year at the south end of the porch came up and the rabbits ate it off. John put protection around it and it is doing fine now. We plan to put up lattice for it to climb on and help shade the south side of the porch.
The wicker on the porch has been refreshed with a fresh coat of paint. One loveseat needs more paint and a new seat. I will have John make a new seat for it.
The geraniums from in the house have been put on the porch on plant stands. 2 extra plant stands will be used for end tables after John cuts a top for them.
2 planters by the steps have been planted with annuals and are very pretty. The 6 hanging baskets have been put back on the porch. They are planted with air plane plants and other plants.

Everything sounds beautiful Aunt Peggy. It looks like both of you are hard at work; you'll have to post pictures of your gardens and the painting job. I'm just starting on our garden and wish I had your expertise!
