In the spring of 2005, I had Cable television hookup installed in the north living room. It is basic cable chanels 2-22 which includes 3 & 6 Omaha, 8 & 11 Lincoln, 12 & 17 public television, 5 public information, 13 general public, 22 CNN. This has been fine so far. Later we will probably have to put in more channels.
The television has a dvd player and we have lots of cartoons and old movies.
Movies can be rented at Super Saver at 27th & Superior, Blockbuster at 17th and Q and many other places around town.
In 2006, road runner was put in. It is a modem hookup by the television and is high speed. The modem remembers the last IP number of the computer used with it. So if a different computer is hooked up, it won't work. You have to unplug the electricity from the modem for 15 seconds, then hook it back up then a different computer will work with it.
This year, 2007, I will be looking into putting in wireless for anyone to use in the house.
In 2006 every guest except one had their own cell phone and I have a cell phone so have not seen the need for a telephone. But eventually, will probably look at Vonage for a phone or Cable phone. For now there is no telephone, just the cell phone of the guest and mine.
