Urns & Ferns: Revisiting Cut-Out Applique
with Kriss Moulds, NQA-certified teacher

Participants will begin to create a wall hanging-sized project featuring a hand appliqued flower and urn motif. Flower and leaf pieces will be cut from reproduction fabric and individually arranged. The class involves a review of hand applique techniques to use with points and curves, as well as discussion of design and techniques for finishing the project.
Level of experience:
Some handwork experience is useful.
Cost:
$35 for Museum members, $45 non-members. $8 materials fee due to the instructor at the
beginning of class.
Participants bring basic sewing supplies [scissors, needles, basting thread, and thimble]

- Hawley House
- John and Peggy have been married 46 years. John semi retired January 2007 and is fully retired in the summer of 2008. Peggy works full time at the University of Nebraska. We have 2 children Robert and Leeza. We also have 8 grandchildren. All live in Lincoln and we enjoy having them close. The Hawley Bed & Breakfast was open for 6 years. Now the Hawley House is in an 1890's Victorian built as two town homes that has been opened into one home and is a local historical landmark. We will be moving into the home in 2011 from across the street. We have 3 dogs Miko (12), Snoopy (10) & Sophie (8).
