Skeeter Barnes 5800 S 58th St. 421-3340

We went to Skeeter Barnes last night for supper. It is actually in the industrial center so the address doesn't help you alot. The turn in to the industrial center is past 56th Street on Pine Lake Road. Turn off Pine Lake Road into the industrial center and it is the first building on the left, so you have to go past it, turn in and drive back thru the parking lot to the front of the building.
I have actually been there a few times so this wasn't a first impression.
John had pulled pork sandwich and baked beans. His favorite entree on the menu.
I had the chicken fried steak with salad and mashed garlic potatoes.
They brought warm bread which is very good. We have had this with all our meals at lunch and evening both.
Best carrot cake around. It isn't on the menu but they must make it alot because we have had it every time we have gone. They have a chocolate cake on the menu and a dessert of the day.
Their cakes are 4 layer and at least 6 inches tall. The carrot cake is half the reason we like to go here. I had half my meal put in a box so I could have some cake. We both ate on one piece and still brought part of it home.
The first time we ate there, we took the 3 oldest grandkids with us. One piece of cake went all around to everyone. But none was left.
